Fibby and Jenna Parlette make the news again!

Posted Thursday, November 11, 2010 by Mike Hout
I opened the paper the other morning to a nice surprise.  It was an article all about "Fibby".  Well, Jenna is mentioned too!  It talks about how the season went for her and how she kept improving and improving through the league meet and the district meet with new pr's finally ending with a 19:28.37.  Great work Jenna.  Here is the article from the November 11th Neighbors section of the Dayton Daily News..........

Parlette and 'Fibby' step up

Jenna Parlette has shown her big heart again.

The Miamisburg senior, who has been one of the cross country team's top three runners all four years, stepped up when needed at the end of the season.

The past three seasons Parlette has required a pacemaker with a heart defibrillator to regulate her heart rate.

She and "Fibby", as she calls the device, teamed up to become the team's second-ranked runner last year with state qualifier Megan Wright leading the pack.

Parlette maintained that spot most of this season with talented freshman Jordan Townsley joining the program.

With Townsley out wiht an injury, Parlette led the way for the Vikings at the Greater Western Ohio Conference championships.  The inspirational runner stepped up with a personal-best time of 19:36.70.

She continued her improvement at the district championships, posting another PR time of 19:28.37.  Parlette led the Vikings to a third-place finish behind champion Springboro and Beavercreek.
