a note from Donnie Whyte

The following is a letter written by Donnie Whyte in the early days of November for this website...........

Coach Pastor:

I know I can speak for everyone on the team when I say it was wonderful to have you around this season.  Whether you were on stilts, or spinning  your top, it was always fun to have you around.  We all enjoyed all the stories you had to tell and can't wait to hear more during the track season.  I don't think any other teams are lucky enough to have a COACH like you.  We're very fortunate.  Thank you for all the cheers, the encouragment, and for just being there for all of us.  YOU are the Pastor of the season this year for all that you have done.

To the Team:

I love every single one of you.  It was a great season and I'm glad I could be apart of it.  I don't think my final season could have been any more enjoyable.  From the Tiffin trip to becoming GWOC Champs to the final race, I had a blast.  Everyone in this family had their own personality and it was great to grow together over this season and all the previous ones.  Through the good times, and the seldom bad ones, we've stuck together and formed great friendships. (And some have become more than friends ;)  )  It was an honor to be named captain of such a great team over the past 2 seasons and hope I have done a good job at preparing yourselves to become leaders of your own.

But we're not done yet.  I'm excited to continue running with you guys during the indoor and outdoor track seasons and will (try my best) to save the crying for the track banquet and hold it in during the cc one, because it's long from over.  Once again, you all are the greatest bunch of kids I know.  Thank you for making running enjoyable.

Thank you too Coach Jenny and J.  You both have turned my life around more than you may ever know.  I've grown so much over the past 4 years and you've both been a huge part of my life.  You're both the best coaches I could have ever asked for.

It's sad that cc is over, but all the memories made will stick with me for a life time.

Donnie Whyte :)
