double arghh......Springboro girls xc makes paper

Posted Tuesday, August 30, 2011 by Mike Hout
Marc Pendleton of the Dayton Daily News chose to highlight the Springboro girls cross-country team in today's paper (8/30).  BORO'S RUNNERS LOOKING STRONG was the headline.

"The loss of graduated Carly Hamilton hasn't grounded Springboro High School's girls cross country program.  Paced by winner Rachel Mahle (19:03), the Panthers bunched four runners among the top five to run away with the Division I-II team title at last Saturday's Bob Schul Invitational at West Milton.  Other Boro placers were Lycia Hollon (second), Keaton Case (fourth), Heather Baruxes (fifth) and Kim Stretz (ninth).  Springboro beat runner-up Oakwood 21-61.

Other individual winners were Tammy Berger (19:14.9) of Versailles in the D-III, Stebbins' Jesse Moreno in boys Divisions I-II  (16:02) and Versailles' Sam Prankel in D-III (15:54.3). Team winners were Vandalia-Butler (boys Division I-II) and Minster (boys and girls D-III). Saturday's big cross-country meets are the Treaty City Inv. at Greenville and the Lebanon Inv.

Hamilton is in her freshman season of running at the University of Georgia."

So here is the double arghhh.......not only did we get to hear how good Springboro girls are but we had to read that the Miamisburg Invite this weekend is not one of the big cross country invitationals.  We will show them!!!
