updated - year end Awards Banquet was great!

Posted Wednesday, November 16, 2011 by Mike Hout
Some wish for it.  We work for it!

That is the phrase that was on the back of t-shirts given out at the cross country awards banquet.  Nice shirts.  I am thrilled to receive one.  I can't say enough good things about the quote on the back.  I also can't say enough good things about the cross country boys and girls and the coaches.  Such a great group to be around.

The food was great.  The awards were great.  The video was great.  Did anyone notice the one part where Quentin Mullen cut loose with everything he had in his stomach after a hard run in practice?

Big congrats to our MVPs.....Jordan Townsley and Michael Melko.

Special congratulations to those who received all league and all district honors.  That list includes Corey Dillon, Stephanie Mee, Curtis Carmack, Jayme Mettle, Elliot Zech, Quentin Mullen, and of course Michael Melko and Jordan Townsley.

Up and Coming award winners were Josh Boxer and Cole Supp.

Did I mention anything about the potty award?  Annie Peters can tell you more about it.

Guardian Angel award went to Stephanie Mee.

The Good Helper award was given to Billy Scheid.

Most Improved was awarded to Heather Francis and Michelle Pressel for the girls.  Chris Felts and Corey Dillon won it for the boys.

The Unsung Hero winners were Jayme Meltte and Anna Flores.

Inspiration award went to Nichole Ayers.

Nate Myers won the "no walk" award.

XC/Sprinters were highlighted: Lydia Berry, Lexi Williams, Angelica Mullen, Chris Felts, Jake Knox and Ayanna Pringle.

Stepped up the Plate award was given to Corey Dillon.

The Sixth Runner award winners were Rachel Flores and Annie Peters.

Excellent Leaders were highlighted: Stephanie Mee, Brittany Sumner, Curtis Carmack.

Each of the teams gave nice awards and thanks to Coach Johnson and Coach Schoenberger.

We will miss our four senior girls and our three senior guys.  But the good news is that there were many runners present so
that means we have a bright future.  I counted 26 girls and 23 boys there!!!
